R.R. Shakti, PhD is a mythologist, writer, and founder of Soul Artist Journal. With a doctorate in Mythology and Depth Psychology, her work explores Applied Mythology—the living practice of using stories, symbols, dreams, and archetypes to navigate modern life. Drawing from Jungian psychology, contemplative traditions, and decades of embodied practice, Shakti invites readers and audiences to discover the myths already shaping their relationships, creativity, leadership, and sense of belonging. Her work bridges scholarship and lived experience, revealing mythology not as something ancient, but as one of the most practical languages we have for understanding what it means to be human. Through her books, courses, speaking, and Soul Artist Journal, Shakti explores the stories that shape us—and how changing those stories can change the way we live. She lives with her family in the mountains of Colorado, where she writes, photographs and continues her research into the enduring relationship between myth, imagination and the creative life.
