and then there is what it feels like to be awake right now.
jarring realizations happen daily.
frit to death
I keep trying to hear music in this darkness.
BLUES
chatter
post truth
Where is our humanity?

Hold on.
be gentle

I have always felt that most people are inherently good
in the sense that they care about others,
believe in their worth,
would stop and help
and have more love than hate.
I’ve lost something
I’ve always had.

They’re here. I’m listening.
I made myself go to a coffee shop this morning.
To be with people and stop hermitting
and it feels different.
I am skeptical of ALL of them.
I don’t want to live like this.
I am going to have to work real hard to not feel separate
judgemental
negative
hopeless
hateful
I need to be the way I used to think most humans were.
We can’t let this turn us into something we’re not.
I can’t believe there is more hate than love.
We will have to love even harder...

Aris Moore draws at a table in her window in a small seaside town in New Hampshire, often with her cat Theo by her side. If not there, she can be found drawing in a coffee shop nearby. She is the lucky mom of twins, August and Owen who are both away at college. When she is not drawing she is out in the woods or floating at a favorite spot nearby. She is in love with the natural world and all of its creatures. She is a bug rescuer and has made friends with many frogs, cicadas and other small beings throughout her days.
