Weapons & Boons Wisdom Deck
The Devī Māhātmya is an important Indian poem found within a larger Indian text called the Markandeya Purāna. The stories of the Devī Māhātmya may have been composed during the Gupta period (c. 400-600 CE), which was considered the age of the emerging God/dess in India.
Devī Māhātmya has been celebrated as the first text dedicated to the feminine principle in all of her divine forms. It provides a foundational context for non-dual Tantrik teachings which laud the God/dess as the universal creative power.
The Weapons & Boons™ Wisdom Cards are inspired by this beloved story from the Devī Mahatmya. I have presented the contemplative mythology for each of the gifts–weapons and boons–that the gods bestow upon Devī, as she rises to embody the vision of Supreme God/dess.
