Vāstu vidyā is Sanskrit for the knowledge of architecture and design. Srī means resplendent beauty and is a name for Goddess as Lakshmī. Srī Vāstu is the intentional creation of sacred space for optimal beauty, abundance, and harmony. The science of Vāstu Sāstra dates back to ancient India. It combines Hindu and Buddhist perspectives with guiding principles for designing towns, temples, gardens, and homes. Vāstu seeks to balance the elements and align with Nature to promote a peaceful co-existence. It is not meant to be a rigid or dogmatic system, but rather a light-hearted practice for creating a soul sanctuary.
